East Troublesome Fire 5 Year Anniversary

Five years after the East Troublesome Fire, KFFR and the Grand County Wildfire Council present a special Public Affairs broadcast from the Community House in Grand Lake, next to the Juniper Library, that is open to the public. 

Panelists Alexis Kimbrough, Jessica Rahn, Merrit Linke, Ryan McNertney, Assistant Chief Ron Thurston, and Chief Seth St. Germain will join Ryan Wilson from KFFR for a conversation on recovery, lessons learned, and how the community continues to move forward, and answer your questions.

Steering Committee Meeting: Thursday, October 23rd

Starting at 11:30 AM, join us for a discussion of the accomplishments, successes, and community resilience of our community since the East Troublesome Fire, as well as discussing challenges. 

GCWC will do a short presentation and then open it up to our partners and attendees to discuss their thoughts. Please come ready to share! Anyone is welcome as a stakeholder in wildfire issues in Grand County.

East Troublesome Burn Scar: Replanting Information Meeting on Wednesday, October 29th, 3-4pm

The Grand County Wildfire Council, in collaboration with our partners, invites our property owners to a meeting about replanting options in the East Troublesome Burn Scar. This meeting will be held on Wednesday October 29th from 3pm to 4pm and is open to the public.


Replanting has been identified as the most significant remaining need for private property owners in the burn scar. At this meeting, several partners and organizations will be presenting on replanting options. GCWC will be discussing support that we can provide.
