To apply, you’ll need to submit your livestock inventory for the summer of 2025 (adult cows and bulls, yearling cattle, ranch horses, sheep, goats, llamas, alpacas, etc.)
For any pastureland that you do not own, you’ll need to submit a written lease agreement, or permit on federal land.
2025 Emergency Livestock Assistance Program (ELAP)
For eligible livestock in Routt, Jackson, Grand, and Summit Counties, ELAP provides financial assistance for:
· the transportation of water to livestock
· the above normal cost of mileage for transporting feed to livestock (buying and trucking in hay)
· the above normal cost of transporting livestock to forage/grazing acres (shipping livestock to cornstalks, feed yards, etc.)
To apply, you’ll need to submit supporting documentation (such as trucking receipts or daily logs) of the amount of water or feed transported, and the mileage of feed or livestock transported.
