Mark Volt - The Heartbeat of MPCD

Mark Volt is the go-to guy if you want technical assistance on conservation projects in Middle Park. With local experience dating back to the early '80s, Mark is the most knowledgeable on what does and doesn't work on ag lands in Grand and Summit Counties.
He started as the NRCS District Conservationist, but after retiring from NRCS in 2017, he came back to work part-time for the Middle Park Conservation District through an annual grant from Colorado State Conservation Board and NRCS. Mark's commitment to the District and the landowners of Grand and Summit Counties reigns supreme. Despite a revolving door of NRCS employees that have come and gone since 2017, Mark remains the steady heartbeat of the office.
Not only does his presence keep District going, Mark maintains the lifeblood of what conservation districts are all about - Conservation Technical Assistance (CTA). CTA is the free advice conservation districts provide to landowners on proper land management and on-the-ground conservation projects. CTA is what Mark most enjoys about his job because he gets to leave the office and spend to visiting with landowners in the field.
