MPCD Scholarship for Granduating Seniors: Apply by April 1

The Middle Park Conservation District will award one (1) scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduating senior in West Grand, East Grand, or Summit, including home-schooled students. Applicants should be planning to continue his/her education at any college/university, vocational or trade school in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Conservation, or Agriculture. Students looking to study natural resources or conservation should be studying fields that pertain to Colorado (i.e. not oceanography or marine biology).
Based on the number of qualified high school applicants, current college students, including grad students and continuing education class students, will be considered on a secondary basis.
The award will be based on career goals, academic record, extracurricular activities, community involvement and financial need. Funds for the scholarship will be made out to the institution of the recipient’s choice upon proof of enrollment.
Applications must be received by EMAIL on or before April 1, 2026.
Application Procedures:
If you are a student at MPHS, please complete the “MPHS Uniform Scholarship Application”.
If you are a student at WGHS, please complete the “WGHS General Scholarship Application”.
If you are enrolled in Grand County Christian Academy, are a homeschooler, or are a Summit County student, contact middleparkcd@gmail.com for a scholarship application.
In addition to the Scholarship application listed above, please submit the following:
o At least two letters of recommendation. One letter should be from faculty or other school personnel and the second one from an employer or other adult familiar with your work habits and personal traits. Neither letter should be from a family member.
o A copy of your school transcript. It should include the courses you’ve taken, your grades, GPA, class rank (if applicable), and SAT or ACT scores (if taken).
o College transcript (if you have taken any college courses)
o A copy of your community service documentation (if community service is required by your school)
o A typed essay between one and two pages in length, double-spaced, using 12 point font, on Why Is Natural Resource Management Important and How Does It Pertain To Your Personal Career Goals?
All parts, including the application, letters of recommendation, school transcript(s), and essay should be scanned into ONE document to be submitted by email to middleparkcd@gmail.com.
